Pencil Drawing of Preston Jones (Commission)

On acid free mat board 15” x 24”

I don’t often do commissions but this one is an exception. It was a great drawing to work on; Preston has a very intriguing face, a serious, deep, gaze… a thinker and artist, but with more then a hint of kindness.

wow, i'm absolutely amazed. it must have taken a long time to complete. i love all the little details, the knit sweater, the wrinkles and stubbles on his face,... it absolutely blows my mind that it's a pencil drawing. great job, the one who comissioned this must have been pleased.

Every time I see a "Draw of ___" by you in my new deviations list, I know the quality is going to be ludicrously good and it's going to blow me away. Well, you certainly did that again with this drawing... the way you can capture such personality in a portrait is astounding. Great, great job!

beautiful as always... I'm always impressed by the deep level of details you put into evreything you do. Currently in my art class (summer session. blah) we're learning moddling and suchlike, but my professor doesn't let me get into the deeper details I'd like to... your patience is just... amazing... the values, tones, everything just flows so photographically...

wonderful rendering, you've really captured a great expression, he looks pensive and wise. i find wisdom to be a very vague concept and harder still to capture. so in that regard, well done indeed. he looks like a wise minder you would go to for advice on a life-crisis. i dont know, just my opinion, something i get from the picture. you have a wonderful ability to be expressive even when working in a spotless photorealistic style. well done with that. my respect to you once again.

i am impressed!! He does look like a person that has a rugged exterior and a heart of gold....there is an aura of kindness and quiet intelligence...if I am right, you capture the personalities of your subjects very well!! I am sure he will be very pleased! This is wonderful!!!
