Usually I don’t like to show older work here, this is a drawing of my mother referenced from an old photograph, I drew about seven years ago. She was twenty at the time the photo was taken. This drawing is much looser and sketchier then I usually work, but for this I think it works quite well. She does check DA once in a while to see what I am up to… have a great day Mom, I love you!.............ps

On August 31, 2006 my Mother passed away in my arms, she was my light and strength. But she infused me with a love of life and I will carry on without her physical presence for she will remain a part of me until my end comes. Gods speed dear lady. I will always love you

"Sketchy" or not, your work always shows the personality of your subject. Her eyes are wonderfully soft and caring. Thanks for sharing what you do, sir. Cheers.

Looser and sketchier and I'm still trying to get my skills up to that :faint: It's a wonderful portrait and a sweet mother's day gift, now if only my mom would accept my art for mother's day.... Oh well, thanks for sharing such a personal piece. :)

wonderful mother's day tribute/gift. must do one of these for my mum. it would be a lot cheaper than a preasant and would mean a lot more i'm thinking. its a wonderful soft portrait and it captures so much character, i almost get a feel of what type of person she is just by looking into those wonderfully rendered eyes. once again you have amazed me. thank you very much for the inspiration good sir.

It's just simply wonderful. I love this so called "sketchy" style of yours ... wish I could do a final piece as good as this!! *sigh* +fav

You're... bloody amazing. You have such an amazing eye for the texture of hair.

It's a nice drawing and it's interesting to see some of your older works, to see how much you've evolved in the art of realism. But may I ask how old you are now?
