“Into the Grid”

pencil and white Acrylic on oak tag board

More conceptual then observatory, this is not as much a change from my portrait work but a path aligned. I complete six to ten of these type of drawings per year, some have inspired oil paintings.

Although I am a “realist” I was always fascinated with abstraction and deconstructive concepts. What will the human species leave behind? I try to bear witness to that magical moment when the next tenant of this planet finds proof of our existence, just as we humans found the fossils of the Arthropods and Vertebrates. This is not a fatalistic view, but a deep respect for the powers of nature (e.g. God) to reclaim and recreate. Of course an interesting design and powerful composition is the key to this type of work.

Thank you

Nimra

Beautiful work! I like the tones and the combination of different textures.

Those "metal" arches were an excellent idea! Nod

No doubt, with work like these laying around, the next predominant species on earth will have a better oppinion about us :P (Lick)

that's wonderfully inspiring... got me curious to imagine an oil painting with this design.

I wish I could touch this,
the colors are so delicate
and the rythm so tangible ...

A special Clap for your concern for posterity
