Shadow Play II Graphite on Illustration board 39” x 19”

Another broken bulb drawing? Well yes and no, with the exception of one my bulb drawings the others are very narrative where the light bulbs take on symbolic importance of the fragileness of being human. Not with this one, this is the second in a series of works called “Shadow Play”, the composition and the overlapping of glass becomes somewhat abstract; piles of shards laying on top of each other are of interest to me for the intangible forms suggested and the focus is mainly on the shadows and defused patterns of light.

I would like to eventually create five of the Shadow Play drawing each one with a different subject but very similar composition.

Oh my! I love the play with the shadows and broken glass, they make a very interesting composition. How the reality of an object can become an abstract is very interesting and intriguing to me. This is a really great example of it! Most excellent piece of work! :clap:
